At Earthshine Gardens, we offer a variety of environmentally sustainable and organic gardening, land care and landscaping services on Nova Scotia's South Shore. We are comprised of a stellar team of ecological garden and land care professionals. We work with each client to create the relationships and projects that are ideally suited to help them solve landscape challenges, revitalize gardens, improve forest health, create artistic features and ultimately enjoy their land to the fullest. We work with a small crew using primarily hand tools to minimize our impact on the land and on the privacy of our clients. We use all organic and sustainable practices in our work. This includes using resources onsite to minimize inputs, buying local when possible and focusing on building the soil first to create sustainable landscapes that add value to surrounding natural spaces.

Our values are rooted in permaculture, a practice of sustainable landscape design that follows the patterns of nature to create dynamic, low-maintenance garden and land systems that yield beauty, food, fertile soil and other materials for humans and wildlife. The ethics of permaculture are 'good for the earth, good for people, share the surplus'. These ethics guide our work at Earthshine Gardens. We understand that strong and resilient communities are a key foundation for living more sustainable and connected lives.  Our business name is rooted in our commitment to respecting the connectivity between all Earth's inhabitants, elements and systems.

Our work to nurture sustainable communities begins with engaging our clients to create, enhance and care for ecological landscapes. We are a family business and when it comes to our team, we seek to provide meaningful work, a living wage and a positive work environment.

We are an open-minded, equal-opportunities business. We welcome everyone to be a part of our work, and offer sliding scale/ barter options on request. As we grow our business, we plan to develop our relationships with community organizations to offer programming and support for Nova Scotians to reconnect with the land and grow gardens in community spaces.

All client relationships start with a complementary site visit with our designer to observe the land together, discuss your needs and explore ideas.  Please contact us to book your complementary site visit today. Travel fee applies to projects outside of Lunenburg and Queens' Counties.
